Wilma Joyce Hanner Sovern, 74 of Columbus died Friday 3-27-15 at 1:40 a. m. in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Jackson County, Wilma was the daughter of Woodrow and Marjorie Lutes Hanner. Wilma enjoyed gardening, canning her harvests, serving as a bus monitor for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the 25th St. Church of Christ.

Wilma's funeral service will be Friday 4-3-15 at 1:00 p. m. in Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus with Jim Atkins officiating. Calling...

Wilma Joyce Hanner Sovern, 74 of Columbus died Friday 3-27-15 at 1:40 a. m. in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Jackson County, Wilma was the daughter of Woodrow and Marjorie Lutes Hanner. Wilma enjoyed gardening, canning her harvests, serving as a bus monitor for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the 25th St. Church of Christ.

Wilma's funeral service will be Friday 4-3-15 at 1:00 p. m. in Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus with Jim Atkins officiating. Calling will be from 11:00 until service time. Wilma is survived by her husband, Dale Sovern, who she married in December of 1957 in Lawrence County; son, Mark Sovern; daughters, Anita (Robert) Barker and Dana (Dan) Barlow, all of Columbus. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Tyler Barker of Tennessee and Lindsey Sovern; her great grandson, Keaton Littlejohn, all of Columbus; three brothers and two sisters. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother.
